I work in oil and acrylic painting, drawing in charcoal and conte and experimenting with a range of printing techniques including screen printing, etching and stone lithography. I have also developed an interest in making artist books. I especially like the panoramic possibilities of the concertina book.
In October 2013 at the Incinerator Art Space, Willoughby, I exhibited paintings of interiors of woolsheds called Cathedrals of Wood – Painting In Woolsheds.+
I have continued to have a strong interest in interior spaces and have taken advantage of the interesting spaces of the old warehouse of one+2 artist studios where I have a studio. Many of the paintings and drawings are quite descriptive and I hope that I have also been able to conjure up the spacious and creative nature of the spaces. I am also concerned with the displacement of real studio spaces with abstraction – trying to capture visual peripheral vision as well as the shape, proportion and colour of these spaces.
A current direction is experimenting with landscape, both as large oil or acrylic paintings and as miniatures.
